Privacy Policy
The KMS Internet Privacy Policy is published to comply with the United States Federal Trade Commission rules for website operators to make sure that youth privacy is protected while they're online. These rules are part of the 1998 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

Parents are encouraged to read How to Protect Kids' Privacy Online at the US Federal Trade Commission website or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.

While a more thorough policy will be developed by our KMS committee in the coming months, three over-riding commitments are already in place.

1. We will not post any information which would identify youth under age 13 without the express permission of their parents or guardian. However listing the first name only of participants (for example in a Choir roster) is not considered as violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.

2. Because of the widespread practice of automated "web spiders" in harvesting publicly posted email addresses for later use by internet marketers, we will not post email addresses of anyone without their express permission, untill we can implement a method of blocking this abuse (such as java script generated email address display, or by switching the @ symbol for the # symbol in the display and having the user replace it before use.)

3. We will never sell or share personal information on any of our youth or adult members to third parties outside of the KMS without first obtaining their express permission.

Do be aware that some of the helpful links available on our website are hosted and maintained by groups not associated with the KMS, over which we have no control. All of KMS website can be identified by noting the URL address at the top of your browser screen which will alway contain "KonaMusicSociety". If you note anything objectionable on a linked site, please let the KMS leadership know so we can take necessary action.
